Persons with Special Needs Resource Directory

Over the past several years a group of community service providers and parents through the Child Development Centre and the Children First Initiative worked together to create the Prince George Persons with Special Needs Resource Directory. This directory consists of resources for children that are between the ages of birth to nineteen. The directory will assist you with finding resources for your child with special needs ranging from daycare, early intervention to transportation.

Guide to Kindergarten

The Children First Children and Youth with Special Needs subcommittee has created a valuable tool for parents with children with special needs that are entering kindergarten. Beginning the transition to kindergarten can start early so access the guide in January of the year your child is entering school. Feel free to print the transition guide to kindergarten and use it as needed.

Culturally-Focused Early Intervention Therapy Programs For Aboriginal Children & Families In British Columbia

This guide has been developed for Aboriginal communities interested in early childhood development and in programs that promote healthy children, families and communities. However, this guide would be helpful to any family or individual who is concerned about the growth and development of a child they know. Using clear language and a step-by-step guide, this handbook outlines the process of having a child assessed, the professionals and organizations that can help the child and the benefits of intervening early in a child's life.
