On a cold winter day, these activities will make staying indoors fun and exciting!
1. Sandpaper Play -- Supplies: coarse sandpaper, yarn in various colors. Cut various colors of yarn into different lengths. Show your toddler how the yar sticks to the sandpaper. she will enjoy creaing a design, pulling it off, and starting over again. Store yarn and sandpaper in a ziploc bag..
2. Indoor fort: You will need: a blanket or sheet. Drape the blanket over a coffee table and sofa or chair to make a cozy little fort or tent to play in.
3. Indoor picnic - Spread a blanket on the living room floor, and have a picnic lunch or afternoon snack.
1. Have a snowball fight.
2. Front Yard- Your kids can build a snowman and dress him up with old scarves and hats.
3. Snow Painting - Fill a spray bottle with water, add a few drops of food coloring or a spoon or two of liquid tempera paint. Dress your child warmly and take him ousside to "paint" the snow with his spray bottle. Your child would also enjoy using brushes and liquid tempera paint to paint the snow.
